Endoscopy & NPL
Endoscopy is a procedure that involves inserting a long, thin
tube into the body to examine an internal organ or tissue in great detail. It
can also be utilized for other purposes, such as imaging and minor surgery.
Endoscopes are minimally invasive instruments that can be put into body
openings such as the mouth or the anus. An endoscope is a flexible tube with a
camera attached to it that doctors use to perform an endoscopic surgery. An
endoscopist can examine and manipulate internal body parts as the tube goes
through the throat or rectum. A doctor can utilize an endoscopic technique to
examine any area of the body, including:
- Ear
- Gastrointestinal tract
- Urinary tract
- Respiratory tract
- Reproductive system
